Cherry Street Artisan Cafe is a locally owned independent arts cafe at the corner of Cherry and Ninth in downtown Columbia. They specialize in the craft of coffee making, fresh food and pastries, imported beers and wine, and by providing art and culture through their gallery space and stage.

Known primarily for their coffee, Cherry Street Artisan will assuredly impress with their local, fresh and creative approach to sandwiches, salads and soups.  Not to mention their desserts, appetizers and snacks.

It's a truly eclectic assortment of made from scratch treats designed to make the mouth water, no matter the occasion.  Most people I've talked to frequent the Artisan for lunch, and never have a problem making it back from their 30-minute break.  I would venture to say that you would enjoy the simplicity and cozy feeling you find at Cherry Street Artisan.cherrystdrinks

I started out this dining adventure with Cherry Street Artisan's made from scratch Tomato Gazpacho soup.  I've enjoyed many Tomato based soups while frequenting restaurants, but what makes theirs most unique is that it's served cold.  It's a refreshing change from the norm at an affordable price.

Since I had a sandwich for lunch, I decided to try one of the Artisan's made from scratch honey wheat crust pizzas, which consist of a heaping mound of fresh ingredients piled onto a 8-inch, homemade sourdough crust baked to perfection.  Getting into the Olympic spirit I decided to take at trip north of the border and try the Oh! Canada, which consisted of Canadian bacon, pepperoni, marinara and mozzarella cheese.  Cherry Street Artisan Cafe really has come across something special with its homemade honey wheat crusts, a simply delectable treat!cherrystpizza

Ok. So now I've had one of signature soups and pizzas, and am feeling a bit stretched; however, the moment I walked in the door my nose and eyes were drawn to the, again, made from scratch (starting to see a theme here, right?) pastries and desserts.   I tried Grandma's chocolate cake, and it finished off a very tasty dining experience perfectly.

If you live in Columbia or one of the many adjacent communities, I'd definitely suggest stopping by and giving the Cherry Street Artisan Cafe a try.  It's great for lunch, dinner, work gatherings and they also offer catering.  Plus, don't forget to check out some of the live talent that perform there on a regular basis.

The Cherry Street Artisan Cafe is simply good food and drink with a unique local flavor that will impress even the most critical palate.

Happy Eating!
