There are several fun things about downtown Columbia. The shops, the friendly faces and of course the food. Now there is a funky little cookie shop on Broadway that is a blast to visit.
Hot Box Cookies is a great idea no matter what time of day or year. Sitting next to Cool Stuff on Broadway, Hot Box Cookies will have you from the moment you pass by. The intoxicating smell of fresh baked cookies will make you float in.
Round tables dot the length of the room while a display case shows off those fresh baked delights. A chalkboard menu will catch your eye and for a moment, seem overwhelming.
You have plenty of options to choose from as you enjoy the free smells from Hot Box Cookies. You could go for a single cookie, but why stop at one? The Single package includes 6 cookies and milk for less than 7 bucks. The cookie count goes up from there: 12, 18, 24. You can even order the dough and take it with you!
At Hot Box you can customize your cookie. Pick your dough: plain, chocolate, peanut butter, or oatmeal. Then throw in what ever you want: chocolate chips, M&M's, walnuts, Oreos, the list goes on and on. Wash all those cookie crumbs down with a smoothie, shake, soda, floats, or cookies' best friend – milk!
Hot Box Cookies offers an endless opportunity for a late night snack. They deliver up to 2:30 am, Thursday thru Saturday, and late enough on other nights. They can cater for any get-together you have.
Besides being a great idea, Hot Box is also a great place to hang out. Free Wi-Fi plus a large selection of games are on the shelf. I played a game of Battleship while I waited for my warm cookies to come out of the oven.
Hot Box Cookies fits in nicely along side other quirky and fun downtown shops. Needless to say, the cookies are awesome and the atmosphere is inviting. With the New Year here, Hot Box is bound and determined to throw a little curve into your "getting healthy" for the New Year resolution. But then again, one cookie won't hurt... and six are fun to share.
