My Dear Readers,
The Missouri Restaurant association went all out for this year’s Taste of Mid Missouri benefitting the scholarship program for the UMC Restaurant program, and I must say that the students had one of the tastiest dishes at the event! They served bites of duck BLT - they were unique, moist and delicious!
Another favorite was Les Bourgeois Bistro, sampling a slow-smoked pulled pork with pickled bell peppers and fried shallots on a beer cheddar biscuit. The entire bite melts in your mouth! So full of crunch and layers of flavor!
Lots of MidMoDiningGuide.com restaurants were on hand serving up their specialties:

- Boone Tavern Postsickers with grilled chicken and veggies
- Sophia’s Frangelico monkey bread
- Addison's BBQ baby back ribs
- Bread Basket Café homemade cookies
- Jazz Jambalaya and Seafood Fettuccini
- Smokin Chicks Rib tips, pulled pork and burnt ends
- Shakespeare’s pizza
- Shiloh ribs and hot wings
And oh, so many more! If that weren't enough - to wash it all down…beer, wine and tea from Columbia’s finest purveyors were also there for the sampling.
It was a great reminder of all the delicious options we have here in Mid Mo and to see the hard work of the students shine. I can’t wait to check out one of their Culinary Café dinners, I’m thinking the French Fusion. Check out all their offerings at www.culinarycafe.missouri.edu.
