A cooking demonstration – complete with samples for the audience – will showcase locally grown foods prepared with professional cooking techniques. The “Farm to Table” cooking demonstration is hosted by Isle of Capri Casino Hotel Boonville.

On Saturday, Sept. 24 at 4 p.m., Chef Jason Martin will prepare a three-course meal in front of a live audience. The menu was created using ingredients from mid-Missouri farms and merchants; from Patchwork Family Farms pork (in the grilled lemon and herb pork with summer vegetable relish) to Missouri Legacy beef (in mini meatloaf appetizers), to Central Dairy (in the apple pecan crisp dessert).

“We wanted to show people the places where you can get fresh, locally grown ingredients and how they can prepare them” said Adam Rentchler, marketing manager Isle of Capri Casino Hotel Boonville, “Chef Jason is passionate about using locally grown ingredients and wanted to share that with the community.”

Audience members will be offered samples of each dish during the event. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet local growers and learn more farm to table ideas after the demonstration.
