The MidMoDiningGuide.com staff lunched on delicious food at Bangkok Gardens. This Columbia, Mo., Thai food gem is located in downtown Columbia. It's worth going to see the beautiful interior of the restaurant alone - a great place for business lunches that won't break the bank!

#1- Phat Thai is my favorite dish! It has excellent flavor. (Rice noodles with cabbage, bean sprouts, onion, egg, peanuts and cooked in the house sweet & sour sauce). I ordered the lunch combo special (comes with drink and 2 Siam Village Rolls). I chose the Siam Village vegetarian rolls. They were cabbage rolls and a little bland. The house sweet & sour sauce that was served with the rolls helped quite a bit. Overall, the service and atmosphere was great and I would go back again.
#12 Phat Nam Mon Hoy: Fresh, light, generous portion of stir fried broccoli, carrots, zuchini and onions in oyster sauce. At first I was a little nervous about the oyster sauce, but it is not fishy or strange, but more of a sweet and salty sauce full of flavor. I love how you can add a protein to your dish. I chose the shrimp, which I was definitely impressed with.
#11 Coconut Curry. The coconut curry is is creamy and filled with bamboo, carrots, and peas and is served with rice. I got the lunch special and ordered the pork Siam Village Rolls and really liked the crisp texture and flavor of the roll. My favorite part about Bangkok Gardens is how you can order you food to your level of desired hotness. I was bold and decided to go with level 5- Volcanic and was a little disappointed that I was not sweating. Overall, good food, good flavor, good service.
#2 Phat See Eiu with tofu
This dish is made with the sweet and savory oyster sauce and rice noodles, cabbage, broccoli, carrots, onions and zucchini. I was impressed the freshness of the vegetables the large portion and excited that I now have a yummy dinner too! The bar is filled with a variety of everything. I would love to come back for appetizers and cocktails!
