I heart HuHot!

How do I HuHot? Lots of veggies, lots of sauce, lots of hot sauce. Lots of noodles. Yummy :-)

Review Date: April 8, 2011

I have loved Hu-Hot in the past, but the last visit left us thinking we will not be back. The food was almost raw, the bar was sloppy, the place was very dirty, and our server never refilled our drinks. I even had to get up and go get a straw myself because she was no where to be found. We won't be back.

IIII LOOOOVVEEE HUUUU HOTTTT!!!

LOVE HU HOT! Try to go once a week even though it's more than 50 miles (round trip). Wish Jefferson City had one!

Review Date: January 9, 2011

I think it's funny that people say the food at this restaurant has no flavor. Since you are the one who chooses the sauces and juices, you are the one responsible for the flavor. We love going to HuHot. I love the selection at the bar and enjoy watching the guys work the grill. I have never experienced a long wait, maybe 5-7 minutes. I can't wait to go back.

Absolutely love going to HuHot!! I make everything just the way I like it, whatever I want and I can go back as many times as I want. I just wish there was one in Jefferson City!

OMW HuHot Mongolian Grill is amazing. It is one of the most beastly restraunts ever! My friend really doesnt like chinese types of foods or Mongolian foods like this but he wanted to go back for his birthday! It is amazing!

Me and a few friends went in over the weekend after hearing about them on KCMQ. We were all very happy. The food was great and the server (Brian?) was very friendly. It's a neat place. It was a great first experience! I look forward to going back!

We love HuHot! My husband is a very picky eater and even he likes HuHot. It's very affordable, the staff is always courteous and attentive, and it's fun to make your own creation. I've never had a bad experience. I highly recommend this place!

Review Date: March 7, 2010

I'm a very picky eater so HuHot is perfect for me b/c I can customize what goes in my food. If I want more bean sprouts and less chicken, or sweet sauce and a little garlic, well the sky is the limit. But on the other hand, my husband hates it because there are too many choices and he doesn't want to have to think to hard when he goes out to eat. So I guess it depends on your preference. But the staff are always nice and when you go back up a second time ask you how your first dish was. Its always clean and the bathroom is always nice and clean which is a big plus. Love the wall art, 5 stars all around. I LOVE HUHOT

Large selection of ingredients and sauces for stir fry but I was badly sickened after I ate there.I contacted the home office and they were quite courteous. I asked what oils they used in there sauces and stir fry and they stalled. I never received another reply from them so I must assume they have something to hide. I will never eat there again nor refer them to my friends. It could be possible that no oil is used and the food is allowed to burn on the grill causing char in the food

My all-time favorite place! YUM-YUM

Review Date: November 28, 2009

The service and food is AMAZING! As soon as you are seated, within no time you have your drink and soup or salad. There is a wide varity of meats and vegetables and the way that they cook your meal is awesome! I recommend HuHot to everyone that I talk to!

my favorite place to eat EVER!!!!!!!!!

Review Date: November 9, 2009

I went to HuHot for the first time yesterday, after hearing so much about it on the radio. When I first entered, it was a little overwhelming, but my server talked me through the whole process, and soon I was a pro.
The whole idea of the restaurant and your food choices is nothing short of innovative and extraordinary. I still have no idea how those men kept track of everyone's order, but it was amazing.
Then, when I sat down to eat, I was blown away! The food was cooked perfectly. It was beyond words. I got to choose exactly what was in the dish, and how it would taste. I didn't have to rely on the basic fare at every other Asian restaurant. Then, when I went up for another dish, I got to try a whole new experience, with different contents and flavorings.
This is definitely my new favorite restaurant. I cannot wait to take the rest of my family, and any other friends or family who comes in to visit.

Absolutely SCRUMPTIOUS!!!

Review Date: September 16, 2009

Man, I love this place. ChubbyBob can eat a lot, but it's the quality, not the quantity that keeps me coming back here. To address some of the comments before: yeah, of course the meat is frozen. Otherwise it would just be a big blob of flesh in the bottom of the bowl, and would cook to fast for the veggies. And if you think all the sauces taste the same, maybe you better stop mixing them all together in your bowl! Cooking is a skill; if you don't have it stick to the handy recipe cards on the table. TIP: don't go at peak restaurant times (7:00pm on a Friday) as it's going to be busy and you're gonna have to make a bit. Try going at 11:30 or 1:00 for lunch, or 6:00 or 8:00 for dinner. You'll slide right through!

I finally got the opportunity to try this place and I was pleasantly surprised. The only major complaint I have with this place is that it is ALWAYS PACKED. I guess that goes along with being a successful restaurant.

Price was a little bit steep, but being a buffet sort of justifies the price. The fried rice we got on the side was bland and not interesting. The assortment of meats and vegetables is superb. For your first couple trips, I wouldn't try to create your own "masterpiece" sauce, just follow one of the guides and experiment with one you like.

The layout is a little confusing and makes line navigation awkward. The line for the grill always extends past the sauce bar, making one side of the sauces inaccessible. If you try to stand in line and get sauce while you walk past it, people get cranky and try to pass you in line. It really seems like they would address this problem with a little redesign.

It has always taken me 15-20 minutes from picking up a bowl to sitting down ready to eat. The lines are rediculous and seems to take a long time. Watching the guys cook is fun once or twice, but I'd rather just have some lady bring me my food now.

Watch out for flying hot water or food from those guys on the grill. They work feverishly.

Overall, I give the place a solid 4/5

A while back, I read something on here about someone using two bowls to create the ultimate combination (cause let's face it, it's a lot of food and sometimes you only go through once). It was a GREAT idea! Also, LOVE the smores!

Review Date: October 22, 2008

I love this place. The food is awesome and I can go back and get something different each time.

Heard a lot about this resturant on Y107 plus the dining guide and even some friends that had come to the resturant with great reviews. Well all the say is true, it is a great place to dine. From a relaxed setting, to high end if you want to enjoy great FOOD and enviroment go to HuHot. Every meal is different because you make it to your liking. If you have not gone yet then you need to go!

I love this place. I eat there at least once a week.

Review Date: July 27, 2008

Tried HuHot for the first time last evening. The service was great, and the atmosphere was good. The food, if you don't like it, you have no one to blame except yourself. You choose what is on your plate and the sauce combination that you have. Reading these reviews before going helped me as I did not find the "recipe cards" right away. I would not have even known about them except for this site. When I did find the recipes, there was no recipe for what I wanted. I asked our server and he found some additional recipe cards for me to review that were close to what I was looking for. It is all you can eat, so you should not leave hungary. I thought the grill area was a little dirty with grease and traces of food scattered on the floor. The food bar had items mixed, but that is difficult to control when the public is filling their own bowls. The price for Asian food is a little high.

Good food, interesting idea. I wonder if it had been busier, whether it wouldve taken a really long time. But the chefs are very efficient, and the waitress was very nice. I will definitely go back.

Went to Hu Hot Monday night and had an excellent time. The cooks have great personality and I always love the food!

Review Date: July 17, 2008

Went to HuHot with some co-workers today and had yet another great experience!!! One of my co-workers and she got two bowls and filled one with noodles and one with the rest! Brilliant!!! Service was great and food was awesome!
Needless to say no need to ask me if I HuHot! ;-)

Review Date: July 2, 2008

Excellent place to eat. My wife is picky about where she eats when we go out and HuHot is one of her favorite restaurants in the Columbia area.

Review Date: June 11, 2008

To love this place you have to go more than once! The first time I went, I didn't know what I was doing and just put a little bit of this and that in my bowl! The result was a little disappointing.

The second time I went back with family and had a better idea of the types of sauces that would taste well with my dish and I LOVED it. There are also recipe cards on each table (didnt find this out til my 3rd or 4th time)
It's a great atmosphere to relax and enjoy yourself in!!!!
(The crab ragoons are amazing!!!)

My girlfriend and I have been here 4 times. We both love it. The food is great. Yes, it is overpriced but it is well worth it. There is a great variety of different meats, vegetables, and sauces. If I didn't live so far away I would visit it more often.

Review Date: June 1, 2008

Neat place to eat- Even when the line is long it moves through fairly quickly. It's interesting to watch the cooks do their work.

Good selection of food to choose from and they have a kids menu for the little ones.

Looks and feels like a clean place.

"food all jumbled together"? It's called stir-fry, and you make your own sauce, so I wonder who f***ed up? Some people should stick with their McNuggets...

On the other hand, if you have half a brain, or can read the handy recipes cards, the sky's the limit. And since you can go back over and over, there's no excuse for having a bad meal. Don't like it, just try again. Go on Tues or Thurs night for shrimp, and make sure to try the spicy sausage.

But save room for the cheesecake rangoons. To die for!

Review Date: May 12, 2008

The decor was great... the food ugh! My boyfriend takes me out for a nice somewhat romantic dinner and this turns out not to be the place to go. Unless like my ex... you like all your food jumbled together, no taste and questionable cuts of meat. He'll eat anything and this food doesn't taste like anything legal to eat.

Review Date: May 11, 2008

I don't eat at Hu Hot as much as I used to. After awhile it all just tastes the same, no matter what sauce combos you use. Also, I think its over-priced. For a family of four (the two kids are 5 and eat kids meals) it costs around $50. Thats a lot for frozen chicken and vegetables.

Review Date: May 7, 2008

Man I luv this place!! It may take you a few trips to get your recipe perfect, but hey, you can go through as many times as you want!! Other tips: ask for the VIP card u get a free meal after 9 visits; in a hurry at lunch take 2 bowls so you don't have to stand in line again. S'mores are excellent too even for adults.

Review Date: April 27, 2008

Excellent food...if I may say, I have my recipe right. The guys that cook it are fast and friendly. Our service was excellent and the appetizers are amazing! A great lunch.

Review Date: April 24, 2008

This is my 2nd favorite restaurant in town. Food is great, never had a problem with service. A bit pricey though.

Review Date: April 19, 2008

This restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the service was good. The food was decent, however they did not have a very good selection of meats. They had no shrimp or scallops when we went and the chicken, pork and beef was like a freeze dried jerky, not fresh. Definintely not one of the premiere stir fry grills out there right now.

Review Date: April 11, 2008

HuHot is one of my wife and I's favorite places to eat. The only limit to the experience is your imagination. It is truly a "build your own meal" adventure, and if you aren't happy with your creation, you can give it another try! While most people just gorge themselves with stir-fry, you really should try their appetizers and desserts! The coconut shrimp are awesome, and the cheesecake rangoons are to die for!

Review Date: March 26, 2008

Lots of fun! Can take a while to get your recipes right, but since you can go back over and over, that's half the fun. If the cooks aren't too busy they do tricks. Try the crab rangons, they are the best around. Use lots of suace so your meal gets very tasty.

Review Date: March 24, 2008

Family friendly for sure! I love this place. It is a great place to take the kids too. I have been there for a quick lunch and on date night with the hubby, but also great for family night. It's a fun adventure for the kids as they get to experiment with different flavors and combinations. Also fun to get the smores and let them make their own combinations. Sure beats the everyday hum drum burger and fries that seems to get driven into kids heads about where to go for a great meal.

HAPPY MOM!!! I'M IS HOT FOR HUHOT!!!!

The weekday lunch buffet is an excellent value. Be sure and ask for steamed rice and tortillas if you so prefer. They're on the house. The Asian Salad is outstanding as a dinner side. Similar in taste to Korean BBQ. Very yummy, and the flavors are wonderful!!

My boyfriend and I have been here so many times, and each time I think it tastes better. The staff is very friendly and the food is amazing. A great experience!

Our favorite restaurant in Columbia. Even the kids love it. Once you find the perfect combination of sauces, it's heavenly. LOL.

Consistently delicious. A guilt-free alternative to eating out. Buffet is a great deal for weekday lunches. Healthy, savory, fresh stir fry. Helps hubby eat his veggies. Enjoy!!
