This is a great place to eat. Wonderful food. Service is great. I have never had any bad food or service there as some of the older reviews mention. I hope that those people gave it another try. It's one of my favorite places in Columbia to eat. As far as I'm concerned it's outstanding.
Terrible service with no attention to detail. The server only came to the table three times. Once to get the order, once to deliver the food, and once to get the bill. We were overcharged and they refused to correct the error. We were missing plates of food that were never delivered. Our entire party sat with empty glasses. The food was sub-par and sloppily presented. I am very disappointed with the experience I had at Agave and will neither recommend nor revisit this establishment.
We tried this place for the first time today. The salsa is wonderful; spicy, very earthy, but well balanced. The entrees were seasoned well, without the typical blandness of many Mexican restaurants. The prices are reasonable and the staff very friendly.
my friends & i totally love this place!!! the staff are all great. the foods yummy! the drinks flavorful! very clean restrooms:) we try to go at least once a week. love it!!!
My wife and I have been to Agave several times and have always had a good time. The food is good, retaurant is clean and nicely decorated, and the staff is always friendly and helpful.
My wife wanted to go here for her birthday as she had been previously and really liked the guacamole. The gentleman that seated us did not offer to get a high chair for us and we had two children. The waiter seemed disinterested to improve the situation. Our food arrived, two of the four orders were wrong; the child's order was corrected, mine was not. The waiter acted as if it were our fault. The food was very much like any other traditional Mexican restaurant; hamburger, cheese, and sauce packaged in a tortilla. It was nothing special and in fact not seasoned well. As I payed the check the gentleman at the register asked how everything had been; so I told him it was bad and listed the above grievances. He said "okay" and continued to ring up the check. I asked for the manager, and was told he wasn't there. The people were generally aloof and the food was very below average. Save yourself the money and go elsewhere.
Service was very slow and the food wasn't great. We decided to try this place for lunch because we had a coupon for buy 1 lunch get one free. When we went to the restaurant we told them about the coupon and when we went to pay they told us they gave us the dinner menu and were unwilling to honor the coupon (we went to the restaurant at noon...clearly lunchtime). Definitely won't be back.
My family and I LOVE this restaurant. Great food and quick friendly service. We frequent this place and highly recommend it to others. Whether you dine in or carry out. Guacamole and sala is a must.

This is far most the best mexican place in town.
I go to eat there twice a week mabye even more.

Poor service. Poor food. All around bad experience. They just don't seem to care here. Food was cold and we were one of two tables. Worst tamale I have ever had. Was covered in cold nasty red sauce and the tamale itself was cold and not good. Server mumbled, was not friendly and never came back by to ask how the food was. I wouldn't either if I had to serve this nasty crap. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
This has become my new favorite restaurant in Columbia. The salsa is amazing, the drinks are good, and the food is close to authentic and is by far the best Mexican in town. The decor is fun, the dining room is good size, and it is rarely overcrowded. I would highly recommend this restaurant, and encourage everyone to give it a try.
You will be pleased. Excellent food, great service, reasonable prices. I eat there often.
