Located in the lower level of the Broadfield Center on West Broadway near HyVee, under a large neon sign, you'll find Bamboo Roll and Sushi- Mid Missouri's newest sushi restaurant.
It's not a boring kind of restaurant. The food at the Bamboo Roll and Sushi is pretty, elegant and tasty.
The inside of the Bamboo Roll and Sushi is longer, taller and more chic than can be imagined from the outside.
During dinner it was quaint and calm. The smart little booths, tables and chairs were comfortable. Mirrors and stylish lights helped brighten the restaurant. Fresh flowers and green plants added to the sophisticated mood.
The menu consists primarily of sushi. They also have a varied wine and alcoholic beverage list. The appetizers are a particularly nice option and the whole family is accommodated with their kid's menu.
I started off with the Gyoza as an appetizer, which could only be described as delicious.
For my entree I decided on a combination plate - eel, salmon, and tuna and spicy California rolls. The fish was fresh and tender; the rolls spiced perfectly and the eel was scrumptious. It was the first time I tried eel and I was pleasantly surprised with its full flavor.
The flatware was delightful and different - not your average round or square plates and bowl. The music is soothing, non-offensive- yet modern. The waitress was helpful and knowledgeable about Japanese culture. Plus, if you're a novice to sushi food, Bamboo Roll and Sushi's menu includes pictures.
Bamboo Roll and Sushi is a calm, elegant venue in which to try a new dish. It would be a good place for a special lunch or dinner with adventurous friends.
